Coach Pollack played football and threw the shot put and discus at Hauppauge High School in New York. After High School Coach Pollack went on to Canisius College in Buffalo New York where he was a varsity letterman for both the football and track teams, with his College throwing career finishing with a third place finish in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Championships. Coach Pollack moved to Texas in 1995 and proceeded to coach both football and track. In 2003, Coach Pollack became the head boys track coach at Hightower High School in the Fort Bend Independent School District. In his seven years at Hightower, he helped guide the Hurricanes to 4 District Championships, 2 Regional Championships and 1 State Championship in 2007. His 2007 4x200 meter relay squad owns the National High School Federation record of 1:23.92. In 2010 Coach Pollack moved to Katy, and began working as an assistant football and track coach. Coach Pollack was elevated to the Head Girls Track and Field and Cross Country job for the 2012-2013 school year, and helped continue the tradition of greatness in cross country by making it to the state meet, while helping the Track and Field team win its first district championship in 5 years.
Coach Scott Kenney ran high school cross country and track at Thomas Jefferson High School in Council Bluffs, IA. He then went on to run four years of varsity collegiate cross countary and track, earning Academic All-American honors at Buena Vista Univresity in Storm Lake, IA . From 1999 to 2005, Coach Kenney coached boys’ & girls’ distance athletes at the junior high level, assisting a number of athletes to amazing accomplishments including a 4:42 1600 for 8th grade boys and 5:25 1600 for 8th grade girls’. He has coached at the high school level over the past 15 years producing a number of state and regional qualifiers/champions in cross country & track & field. From 2005 to 2011, six girls’ cross country teams have qualified for the state cross country championships in the seven years he was head coach for a local 6A high school. In 2017, Coach Kenney became an assistant boys' cross country coach and eventaully the head boys cross country coach and helped the team earn trips to the state championships in 2017, 2018, and 2019. In 2020 and 2021, Ruben Rojas Betanzos and Matt Montgomery when to the state championships. Ruben was able to achieve All-State honors with a 15th place finish in 2020 and 3rd place finish in 2021.
Coach Alyssa Crocker is an avid runner that has been running since she was seven years old. She ran high school cross country and track, in addition to swim team at Cypress Falls High School in Cypress, TX. After high school she graduated from Texas A&M University where she continued to run with various running clubs, organized a few mud run events for a non-profit organization, and eventually pursued a career path in coaching cross-country, track, and field. Prior to coaching at the high school level, she coached middle school cross-country, track, and field where she helped the program win numerous district titles. During that time, she worked with young athletes to improve their running capabilities in and outside of the school setting. For the past five years she has helped lead a summer running program for young athletes at the beginner and intermediate level and looks forward to continuing that opportunity with Seven Lakes Cross Country! Coach Marvin Rathke is known to many people for this ability to motivate and get athletes to attain levels of achievement many thought impossible, such as the 2007 4A State XC Championship and the 2008 5A State Runner-Up team. Over the past 17 years, Coach Rathke established a level excellence in both cross country and track and helped many athletes in both sports earn trips to their respective state meets. Coach Rathke established a tradition of excellence in our cross country and track & field programs that has allowed athletes to achieve state meet standards in field events, hurdles, relays, and distance events.
